The Ghostec team came together again to revisit the wonderful old Avenel House in Bedford, Virginia. It was the weekend past Thanksgiving and the weather was still nice. We arrived there at 7PM, met with the Avenel representative Taffney Mays, who once again talked with enthusiasm about us being there.
Present were Sandy, Jonathan, Scott, Susie, Gary, Nanci and me, Sue. We also had prospective members Anna and Nathan Wright, as well as Nathan’s brother Ethan. Nathan and Ethan are Nephews to Sandy.
After equipment was set up and and snacks were devoured, coffee cups empty, we turned the place into total darkness and settled in for the investigation. We stayed until the wee hours, some leaving a bit earlier than others. While watching the monitors, several anomalies were noted on the screens, a mist curling up through the screen, an orb-like anomaly that moved with purpose and was quite bright. Several EVP's were recorded by the team that night, but as it sometimes happens, nothing showed up on film or video tape other than the aforementioned anamolies.The temperatures dropped in several areas and the EMF meter climbed to a steady 2, then to 3 and held steady for a while in the Red Room. Anna’s digital camera batteries died in that room also. How could so much activity be all around you and yet choose not to show itself? Jonathan got several EVP's upstairs in the Lee bedroom. They are very low and have not posted as of yet. It is not always easy to hear those that are very hushed. Other members had batteries die and watched anomalies on the monitors and yet… nothing that we can bring to you and safely say was hard proof of ghosts being there with us.
Jonathan's notes: Ethan and I sat by ourselves in the Lee bedroom in the dark and did several audio recordings. During one of the recordings we could hear a train approaching in the distance until it was close and loud. I commented "A train's coming" while my digital recorder was going. Upon reviewing this recording later immediately after I made this comment a voice says "yes". We also got what sounds like a man's voice in the hall talking and what sounds like a young boy whispering next to the digital recorder.
